More than a painting, it’s a reflection of the power of service, leadership, and community, personified through her remarkable story.
The exhibit offers visitors an opportunity to engage with her legacy in a meaningful way and continues to build momentum for our goal of permanently displaying this iconic portrait at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History.
